Andrew Platt is the founder and president of Cobalt Technical Solutions. He founded Cobalt in 2015 with the vision of providing innovative, mission-focused management and technical solutions to business and government customers around the world – leveraging the fighter pilot discipline and focus that benefited him during his Air Force career. Mr. Platt is responsible for providing strategic leadership across all corporate functions including program execution, business development, and customer relations.
Prior to founding Cobalt, Mr. Platt served as the Senior Vice President for Defense Programs at Gauss Management Research and Engineering (GMRE) in Utah, where he was responsible for the execution of Government programs and was directly responsible for leading GMRE into several new market sectors including C4ISR, contract aviation, and special operations support. Under his leadership GMRE’s annual defense related contracts grew by 300%.
Prior to GMRE, Mr. Platt served with distinction in the Air Force and Air National Guard. He enlisted as an intelligence analyst and was eventually commissioned, serving as an intelligence officer. Mr. Platt then flew the A-10A/C for 15 years and held numerous fighter squadron leadership positions. He went on to serve as the Chief of Requirements Integration for the ANG, overseeing acquisition and modernization for all ANG C4ISR, SOF, and domestic operations equipment and was the driving force in creating the National Guard’s Joint DOMOPS Requirements Process. During his military career Mr. Platt participated in a number of operational deployments across the Middle East, Europe, and Central America.
He received his undergraduate degree from Boston University School of Management and a Masters of Science in Strategic Intelligence from DIA’s National Intelligence University in 1998. In 2000 Mr. Platt graduated from the USAF Weapons School at Nellis AFB, NV.
Today Mr. Platt resides in Massachusetts with his family and is an avid mountain biker and soccer coach.
